Would you like to get more involved in your branch?

There are many positions available depending on your confidence and your interests. We’re always looking for activists, maybe one of these roles would be right for you?

• Stewards: elected representative whose role includes organising, recruiting and representing members.
• Health and safety reps: we aim to have at least one health and safety representative in every workplace to raise issues which affect the health and safety of members.
• Union learning reps: help identify and articulate the learning needs of members and raise them with employers.
• Workplace contacts: not a recognised steward but someone who helps distribute information and support a steward, they play an important role in helping groups of members to organise effectively.
• Branch officers: elected by members at a branch AGM, these are members whose role is to help run a branch bringing together members who may work for a number of employers.
